About Us
Hedley Asset Management Ltd is a firm of Independent Financial Advisers working from four locations across South Wales. The company was established by its present directors in 1996 and has been directly regulated since 1997.
We provide a highly personal independent financial planning service, giving professional and continuing advice to private and business clients, thus developing trusted long term relationships through good communication and by understanding the needs and objectives of those we serve.
Most members of our team hold advanced qualifications - we are proud to have two Chartered Financial Planners and others who are working towards this prestigious award. See below for more details of our team.
2012 is a most important development year for financial advice firms. From January 2013, all registered advisers will have to be qualified to a level broadly eqivalent to that of a university first degree, and will have to prove their knowledge annually in order to hold the new Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). This will be the equivalent of a solicitor's practicing certificate. Our firm is well on its way to achieving this demanding new standard.
The other radical change coming next year is that all our remuneration for advice will have to be agreed with our clients in advance, and that commission decided between advisers and investment providers will be outlawed, except for pure life insurance cases. Our present clients will know that we have been working towards this standard for some years, and we are completely comfortable with the new concept. This is however coming as quite a shock to some of our competitors!
